Call costs & carrier rates

Estimate what outbound calls cost with your carrier's rates: pick STC, Mobily, Zain, e& or du, set weekend and night rates and VAT, and re-price past calls.

Documentation menu

Telyzer estimates the cost of every answered outbound call from a rate sheet (a tariff). The estimate is for budgeting and charge-back by extension, department and site; your carrier's bill remains the reference. Open Setup → Call costs in the portal.

Choose your carrier

Under Choose your carrier, pick the carrier your phone lines are with — STC, Mobily or Zain in Saudi Arabia, e& or du in the UAE. Its rate sheet becomes your plan for that country:

  • Calls to the carrier's own mobile prefixes (for example STC 050, 053, 055) are priced on their own line, so you can enter a cheaper on-net rate.
  • The main destinations from the Gulf — the other GCC countries, Egypt, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, the UK and the USA — each have a line; anything else uses Other international.
  • The country's weekend is set (Friday–Saturday in Saudi Arabia, Saturday–Sunday in the UAE) and VAT is added on top (15% in Saudi Arabia, 5% in the UAE).
  • The past year's calls are re-priced with it straight away.
Important: Carrier packs use the carriers' published rates as a starting point. Business contracts are usually different: open the plan and correct each line to your contract.

Weekend and night rates

A rate line can have an off-peak rate. It applies all day on the plan's weekend days and every night between the night-rate times (for example 22:00 to 07:00), in each site's local time. Leave it empty where your carrier charges the same at all times.

VAT

Rates are entered before VAT. The plan's VAT rate is added on top: the Estimated call cost report shows the cost, the VAT and the cost including VAT for each extension, and how many calls were at off-peak rates. Set VAT to 0 if your rates already include it.

Your own rates

New tariff starts a plan from scratch or from the country's typical rates. A line matches a call by dialling prefix (like +971 or +9665; the longest matching prefix wins) or, if no prefix matches, by number type (mobile, national, international, toll free, premium). Each line has a rate per minute, an optional connection fee, the billing increment (60 seconds, or 1 for per-second billing) and a minimum.

A plan can be for one country or for all countries; calls are priced by the plan for their site's country. Plans have dates, so a new contract can start on the day it takes effect while older calls keep the old rates.

Re-price past calls

Saving a plan changes the cost of new calls only. Use Re-price past calls to apply it to a period you have already received (up to a year at a time).
