Telyzer Server: install guide

Install Telyzer on your own Windows server: what to prepare, the setup wizard, the first steps after installing, and how to connect your phone systems.

Documentation menu

Telyzer Server is the same Telyzer — the same screens, modules, reports and Arabic and English — installed on a server in your building. Call records, contacts and messages stay on that server. This guide takes you from an empty server to your first report.

Note: New to Telyzer Server? Read the sizing guide to choose the server, and give your IT team the IT security sheet (ports, accounts and data flow) before you start.

1. Before you start

  • A server: Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 or 2025, or Windows 10 (1809 or later, LTSC 21H2) or Windows 11, 64-bit, with at least 8 GB of memory and an SSD. A virtual machine is fine. Not a domain controller.
  • A name for it that people's browsers will use, for example telyzer.yourcompany.local, in your DNS.
  • A certificate for that name (a .pfx file from your certificate authority), or let the installer create its own (you then install its CA certificate on your users' PCs).
  • Your mail server: Exchange, Microsoft 365 or any SMTP server, with a mailbox or relay the server may send through. Telyzer emails sign-in links, invitations, password resets, reports and alerts.
  • Your licence: the licence file (.tzlic) from your Telyzer customer page or your partner. Without one, the server runs for 30 days, then becomes read-only until a licence is installed.
  • Your phone system's details: its IP address and how it sends call records (SMDR or CDR). See Connect your phone systems.

2. Get the installer

Sign in to your Telyzer customer page (the page you reached after choosing On-premises when you registered, or the link your partner sent). It has the installer download, your licence file, this guide and a Request a quote button for the paid licence. The download link is personal and time-limited.

Note: Coming with the installer release. The signed installer TelyzerServerSetup.exe (about 250–300 MB, everything included, nothing is downloaded during installation) appears on the customer page when the installer release is published.

3. Run the setup wizard

Run TelyzerServerSetup.exe as an administrator on the server. The wizard asks, in order:

  1. Checks: Windows version, 64-bit, memory (8 GB or more), free disk, that port 443 and your phone system ports are free, and a warning on a domain controller.
  2. Folders: the program folder (C:\Program Files\Telyzer Server) and the data folder (C:\ProgramData\Telyzer, or another drive).
  3. Your organization: its name, and the administrator's email address and password. This is the first account; it can invite everyone else.
  4. HTTPS: create a certificate (and export its CA certificate for your PCs), or import your .pfx file.
  5. Email server: host, port, security, sign-in, and a test message.
  6. Licence: activate online, create an offline request file, or start without one.
  7. Phone system ports: the TCP port(s) your phone systems send call records to.
  8. Summary → Install → Open Telyzer. The last page shows what to set in your phone system: send SMDR to this server's IP address and port.
Note: Coming with the installer release. The wizard pages above are the installer's specification (docs/plan/on-prem.md, section 5); wording and order may change slightly when it ships.

Silent installation

For SCCM, Intune or Group Policy, the same installer runs without questions:

Silent install (parameters as specified; final list with the installer release)
TelyzerServerSetup.exe /quiet ORG="Riyadh Hospital" ADMINEMAIL=it.admin@hospital.example LICENSEFILE=C:\Setup\telyzer-licence.tzlic CERTPFX=C:\Setup\telyzer.pfx

The installer adds Windows Firewall rules for port 443 and the phone system ports, open to the local subnet by default.

4. First steps after installing

Open https:// and the server's name in a browser and sign in with the administrator account. Administrators find the server's own settings under System in the menu.

  1. System → Email server: if you skipped it in the wizard, enter your mail server and choose Send test message. Nothing is sent through it until a test message arrives, and until then invitations and password resets cannot be delivered.
  2. System → Licence: choose Upload licence file, then Activate online. Without internet access, choose Download request file, send it to Telyzer or your partner, and upload the licence file you get back.
  3. Sites → Add site: one per branch or office with its own phone system, with its country and timezone.
  4. PBX connectors → Add connector: see Connect your phone systems.
  5. Team → Invite people: there is no public sign-up on a server; administrators add every account.
  6. System → Health: every service should show Working and your connector its last call record.

5. Connect your phone systems

Where the phone system isHowGuide
On the same network as the serverDirect push: the phone system sends SMDR straight to the server. Add a connector with Direct push; it gets its own TCP port (between 40001 and 49999, or the one you choose) and accepts records only from the addresses you allow. In the phone system, send SMDR to the server's IP address and that port.Avaya IP Office

Make a test call and hang up: the record arrives seconds later and the connector shows Receiving.

Updates and uninstalling

  • Updates come as signed update packages, applied from Telyzer Server Manager: it takes a full backup first and puts the previous version back by itself if anything fails. Running a newer full installer upgrades too.
  • Uninstalling keeps the data folder unless you tick Remove all data and type to confirm.
Note: Coming with the installer release. Update packages, Server Manager and the uninstaller ship with the installer release; see the admin guide.
