Almost every PBX can print a line per call — called SMDR, CDR, call logging or call accounting — to a TCP connection, a serial port or a file. Point that output at Telyzer now: lines Telyzer cannot read yet are stored, not dropped, and are read again once your format is added.
Values in dashed boxes are this organization's own: the portal's How to connect panel shows them filled in, with copy buttons.
Call records over TCP — we store them and add your format
Recommended for Telyzer Cloud and Telyzer Server.
Telyzer Cloud
- In your PBX's administration, find the call record output (SMDR, CDR, call logging or call accounting) and set it to send over TCP to your Telyzer address port your connector's port.
- In Telyzer, add the PBX's public IP address — the address its traffic leaves your network from — to the connector's allowed addresses. Records from any other address are refused.
- If the PBX waits for a connection instead, or prints only to a serial port, use the Telyzer Relay on a PC next to it:
telyzer-relay add-collector --kind tcp_connect --host <PBX address> --port <port>, ortelyzer-relay set-serial --port COM3 --baud 9600for a USB serial adapter, thenRestart-Service TelyzerRelay. - Make a few test calls — incoming, outgoing, internal and one unanswered — then contact support with your PBX's make, model and software version. We add the format and read the stored lines again; nothing is lost.
Telyzer Server
- In your PBX's administration, find the call record output (SMDR, CDR, call logging or call accounting) and set it to send over TCP to your Telyzer address port your connector's port.
- In Telyzer, enter the phone system's LAN address in the connector's allowed addresses (the PBX's address on your local network). Left empty, any phone system on your local network is accepted.
Firewall: Telyzer Cloud the PBX opens the connection: allow outbound TCP from the PBX to your Telyzer address port your connector's port; no inbound rule is needed.
Firewall: Telyzer Server the PBX opens the connection. Windows Firewall on the server already accepts phone systems on its local network on the connector ports; a firewall between the PBX and the server must allow TCP to your connector's port.
Import exported files
- Export call records from the PBX or your previous call logger as plain text, one record per line (
.txt,.csvor.log, up to 25 MB each). - Contact support with a sample of a few lines first; once your format is added, import the files under Import SMDR file on the connector.
Check that it works
Telyzer Cloud
- Make a test call and hang up. Waiting for the first call record shows the lines received; until your format is added it reports them as received but not read, with the raw line.
- Connections refused by the allowlist show as Refused connections from …. If that is your phone system's address (your firewall may translate it to another public address), choose Add to allowlist; it is accepted within 30 seconds.
Telyzer Server
- Make a test call and hang up. Waiting for the first call record shows the lines received; until your format is added it reports them as received but not read, with the raw line.
Notes
- Call records over TCP are not encrypted. Over the internet, restrict the connector to your office's public address or send through a site-to-site VPN; if records must be encrypted, use the Telyzer Relay, which uploads over HTTPS. On a Telyzer Server they stay on your local network.
- Telyzer lists many phone systems marked “On request”: choose yours from the list if it is there, so support knows which format to add.
